Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 September/ Trend , corr R. Ergun/ Vice President of Azerbaijan's Neftchi club believes they have changed the chief coach late.

"We were a little late in dismissing Anatoli Demyanenko as under his guidance Neftchi performed very badly in Intertoto Cup," Ilqar Quluzade, Vice President of Neftchi said.

The management of Neftchi club dismissed chief coach from Ukraine Anatoliy Demyanenko and appointed German Hans Yurgen Gede to this post. The dismissal of Demyanenko was attributed to the unsuccessful performance of Neftchi in Premier League of Azerbaijan.

Guluzade said they have been interested in Gede for a long time. "Though Azerbaijani national team is led by Berty Vogts, Gede did the main work. Therefore, we decided to sign a contract with him," Vice President said.

At present Neftchi ranks 9th in Premier League. The team has four points after rounds.
