Azerbaijani team won a silver medal on the second day of the European Championship on Gymnastics in Bremen, Germany, the Azerbaijani Gymnastics Federation said.
Azerbaijani gymnast Lala Yusifova, 14, took the second place in the exercise with a ball. She scored 25.65. It is the first medal in Azerbaijan's history of gymnasts' competitions.
Yusifova took the fourth place in the exercise with a ball. Other Azerbaijani gymnast Jala Garatova performed with Indian club and took the ninth place.
So, Azerbaijani team scored 97.775 and took the fifth place. Azerbaijani team took the fourteenth place at the championship in Turin two years ago.
In total, it is great success of Azerbaijani Gymnastics. Adult teams performed in all-round competition on the second day.
Azerbaijani team consisting of Jeyla Guliyeva, Stefani Trayanova, Anastasiya Prasolova, Nigar Abdusalimova, Jamila Huseynova and Aelita Khalafova took the eighth place. Russia took the first place, Italy - second, Belarus - third.
Nevertheless, our gymnasts joined both finals to be held April 18.
