Azerbaijan has sentenced five employees of the State Social Protection Fund and former head of the Lachin branch of the Fund Musa Musayev.
Today Serious Crimes Court sentenced former head of the Lachin Branch of the State Social Protection Fund Musa Musaev and chief accountant of the branch Farman Jabbarov to 2, 5 years imprisonment, employees Elman Mammadov and Bahar Zamanova to 1.5 years imprisonment.
Other employees Zaur Shirinov and Agil Salmanov were sentenced to one year imprisonment.
The accused individuals are charged with Article 179.3.2 (Assignment or wastein large size), 311.2 (Reception by official of a bribe for illegal actions), 311.3.1 (Reception by official of a bribe for illegal actions on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group), 311.3.2 (Reception by official of a bribe for illegal actions on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group repeatedly), 311.3.3 (Reception by official of a bribe for illegal actions on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group repeatedly in the large amount), 313 (Service forgery) of the Criminal Code.
Serious deficits were found in the branch's pension sphere.
In November 2008, the relevant materials were sent to Azerbaijani General Prisecutor's Office.
According to indictment, the accused individuals entering into a criminal conspiracy caused damage in the amount of 66,803 to the country.
