A conference on "Azerbaijani National Press - 135: the historical achievements and prospects" was held in Yevlakh region.
Evlakh region executive power head Elmar Veliyev praised the holding of events of the national scale in this region, associated with the 135-th-anniversary of the national press as high confidence in all Evlakh people. He emphasized the 70-th-publication of Yevlakh newspaper "Kur" and the anniversary of the press. He noted that this event will soon be widely celebrated.
Vugar Aliyev, Presidential Administration Socio-Political Department's Work Sector with Press and Information head stressed that the corresponding order of the president reflects the formation of the Azerbaijani press and its development. He said that this theme is broad enough. He presented an analysis on individual issues.
Chairman of Azerbaijani Press Council Aflatun Amashov told about the activity of national journalism over 135 years, founded by the creation of the newspaper Akinchi issued by Hasan bey Zardabi.
He said that this is the biggest gift given to our people by the national independence. He said that the broad holding of this event is evaluated not only as Zardabi's contribution, newspaper Akinchi, his followers, but also as a glance at the glorious path of our media for the past decades.
The State Support for Media Development Fund under the Azerbaijani President Executive Director Vugar Safarli told about the activities of the organization. He told about the competitions, conferences and workshops organized by the fund. He stressed that regional newspapers are actively involved in activities conducted in this direction.
Member of the Management Board of the Azerbaijani Press Council, editor-in-chief of "Iki Sahil" Vugar Rahimzadeh talked about improving of financial-technical conditions of the press, training of professional journalists, activities ensuring the development of the press in an honest, truthful manner, and the impulse that forms media at the required level.
In his speech, MP Ilham Mammadov touched upon the same questions.
