Asker Babayev, who took unethical actions in Goychay mosque, is not Akhund of the mosque, the Caucasian Muslims Office said.
The media reported that Akhund of Goychay mosque Asker Babayev allegedly took unethical actions in the mosque.
Babayev, who claims for position of Akhund, failed to pass the assessment in the Caucasus Muslims Office, the report said.
"If this fact is confirmed, we think law-enforcement agencies must take appropriate actions," the message said.
"Earlier Asker Babayev nominated for chairmanship in the community. The Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations thinks it unacceptable", the report said.
