Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a resolution "On creation of a specialized football boarding school under the Public Education Ministry in the city of Andijan" August 12, 2010.
The document was directed at attracting young people to sports, creating required conditions for the development of the national football, supporting talented players and forming a solid reserve for the country's football clubs and teams.
The specialized football boarding school will be set up on the basis of Shorbuloq Sport Soglomlashtirish sports complex with support of the Public Education Ministry, Uzavtosanoat company, Culture and Sports Ministry and Uzbekistan Football Federation.
The school will be designed for 120 students, with annual contest-based selection of 24 gifted children after they complete four years of primary education.
The duration of the study is five years, after which the students will go to Olympic reserve colleges and other specialized and professional secondary education institutions.
The school will be financed due to resources of the State Budget, Uzbekistan Football Federation and other resources, which are not banned by the legislation.
