The air temperature will rise this weekend, the Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry told Trend today.
"Unstable air temperatures are forecast until Aug. 28," said Umayra Tagiyeva, an employee at the ministry's National Hydrometeorological Department. "Short rains are expected during the evenings and night hours in several regions. The air temperature will reach 31-34 degrees in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula during the day, 30-35 degrees in the Aran region, and 17-22 degrees in foothills and mountainous areas."
She added that temperatures will reach 35-37 degrees over the weekend, 38 degrees in the Aran region, and about 25 degrees in foothills and mountainous areas.
"Although the air temperature will rise by the end of the week, it will correspond with climate norms," Tagiyeva said. "A sharp heatwave is not expected."
