Azerbaijan-based company Socar Energy Georgia has become the general sponsor of the Georgian Football Federation (GFF), following an agreement signed by the company's head Mahir Mammadov and GFF President Zviad Sichinava.
After signing the agreement, Mammadov said that the company had decided to contribute to the development of Georgian football, which has had great success in international tournaments in the past.
In turn, Sichinava noted that the Azerbaijani company was serious in its bid to help the Federation in developing football and its infrastructure in the country, and had also shown interest in the development of football for children.
It should be noted that during the past year, the GFF president held meetings and negotiations with many companies, but could not find a reliable partner among them. "Now I am pleased that we concluded an agreement with such a solid company and we have found a reliable partner for the development of our football," Sichinava said.
Details of the agreement and the sponsorship amount have not been disclosed.
