Work is underway to release handicapped prisoners in Azerbaijan before the appointed time, Deputy Justice Minister Madat Guliyev told media.
He said a committee chaired by Deputy Penal Service head Huseyn Alikhanov operates in the Penal Service.
The commission considers the appeals of disabled prisoners and their families.
Decisions about early releases are taken based on the prison head's opinion, he said.
Special attention is paid to disabled and sick prisoners.
All available opportunities are used in their treatment, Guliyev said.
