Kidney transplantation surgeries have been resumed in the Dzhavadzade Republican Clinical Urologic Hospital after overhaul reconstruction.

A team of specialists conducted kidney transplantation for two patients, the Ministry of Health told Trend.

Both operations, which lasted for six hours, were successful. Both patients are residents of Baku. One patient suffered from chronic glomerulonephritis, was at the terminal stage of chronic kidney disease and has hemodialysis session three times a week since 2009.

The second patient suffered from chronic pyelonephritis, was at terminal stage of chronic renal failure and passed hemodialysis for three years. Donors for both patients were close relatives, and both had done the right kidney transplantation.

Both patients bear an operation satisfactorily and transplanted kidney is functioning in both cases.
