Hotels promise not to raise prices during Eurovision-2012 song contest in Baku

Azerbaijani hotels have guaranteed the Culture and Tourism Ministry that hotel prices for visitors coming to the Eurovision-2012 song contest will not differ from those of today, Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev told media today. He said that the prices will not be increased in connection with the contest.

Azerbaijani hotels have guaranteed the Culture and Tourism Ministry that hotel prices for visitors coming to the Eurovision-2012 song contest will not differ from those of today, Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev told media today. He said that the prices will not be increased in connection with the contest.

"Tourists will be able to stay in hotels at normal prices during the contest," the minister said. "All the hotels members of the Azerbaijani Tourism Association are rendering the necessary support to hold the international events in Azerbaijan at a high level."

"Hotels are ready to receive visitors," he added. "Azerbaijan will be fully ready to host the contest and meet guests in the coming month."

The 57th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Baku Crystal Hall which is under construction near the State Flag Square. The venue has an arena with a capacity of up to 23,000 spectators. Approximately 16,000 people will be able to attend each of the three Eurovision Song Contest live shows in May.

The Eurovision 2012 semi-final rounds will be held in Baku on May 22 and May 24 and the final on May 26.

The logo for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest is 'Fire Flower', while the motto is Light your fire.

Azerbaijan won the right to host the prestigious European song contest after the victory of Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal (Ell / Nikki) at Eurovision 2011 in Dusseldorf, Germany last May.
