The US-Educated Azerbaijani Alumni Association brings together people who contribute to the development of state and society, chairman of the Association Aynura Piriyeva said at a news conference on Monday.

During the meeting, Piriyeva told reporters on the activities of the Association, projects implemented and future plans.

The Association is a non-profit organization that brings together graduates of educational programs and is funded by the U.S. Department of State.

"Today, knowledge and abilities of these graduates positively affect the development of our state and society. At the moment the members of our Association are working in public and private organizations and large companies and contribute to the development of our country. Our Association was founded in 2003 with a view to bring together all graduates of American universities," Piriyeva said.

She said the Association brings together 3,000 U.S. universities' alumni.

"The Association organizes clubs for discussion open to all, invites foreign lecturers, and organizes informational events. The Association also invites those educated in the United States to join its ranks and provides an opportunity to share their knowledge with young people," Piriyeva said.

She spoke about the three major projects undertaken by the association.

One of them is the "Reach the region" project, main objective of which is to create an environment to share experiences and knowledge with young people from the regions. The second project is the "Alumni Corps of Teachers", in which graduates teach English lessons in schools and universities of regions.

The third and most interesting project is the "Azerbaijan Business Case Competition", where teams of Azerbaijani leading universities are competing.

Piriyeva also said that the Association publishes a magazine called "Context".
