Twenty young activists from Georgia were acquainted with the Resource Centre of IDEA (International Dialogue in the name of environmental protection) campaign.

Representatives from Georgian youth are on a four-day educational visit in Azerbaijan, organised by the Association of Former United Nations Interns (AFUNI), as well as through a youth exchange programme between Azerbaijan and Georgia, carried out as part of the cooperation between Sweden and Georgia with the United Nations associations.

During the meeting, the young people became acquainted with the IDEA campaign and the work of its Resource Centre and informed in detail about the implemented projects and plans for the future.

They discussed the prospects of cooperation between Georgian and Azerbaijani youth, as well as project ideas that can result from this collaboration.

In addition, during the discussion, the young people touched on a number of issues related to the environmental situation and the environment in the South Caucasus which became a general problem for both Azerbaijani and Georgian youth. Both sides spoke about the joint steps that can be taken in the name of 'common peace, common future'.

The official opening of the Resource Centre took place on May 19 with the participation of the initiator of the IDEA campaign Leyla Aliyeva.

Today, the Resource Centre is successfully implementing projects that will contribute to the education of young people.
