Minister: Azerbaijan interested in expanding tourism cooperation with France

Azerbaijan is interested in expanding cooperation with France in tourism, the Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev said during a meeting with French MPs within the Secon World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku.

Azerbaijan is interested in expanding cooperation with France in tourism, the Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev said during a meeting with French MPs within the Secon World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku.

The minister said that Azerbaijan would very much like to see larger flows of tourists from France.

"I believe Azerbaijan is attractive for French tourists. In regards to tourism, we are ready for any kind of cooperation," Garaev said.

Azerbaijan and France may implement interesting projects in tourism and culture. Readers of Alexander Dumas may become acquainted with the route of his journey to the Caucasus by traveling to Azerbaijan, the minister said.

According to him, Azerbaijani companies are actively participating in tourism fairs in France, and French companies are doing likewise in exhibitions in Azerbaijan.

In the past year, an info tour was organized for leading French travel companies and media representatives, the minister said.

Garayev also added that the ties in the field of culture between the two countries have also intensified in recent years. He noted the special role of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in the expansion of cultural relations between Azerbaijan and France.
