World Science Day has been held at British School in Baku with a great passion and enthusiasm.
The private institution celebrated the day by holding special events, speeches, lessons, science movies, debates and quiz competitions.
It should be noted, that every year the day is organized to raise awareness on the importance of science that has in our daily lives.
According to the Head of the Primary School of the British School in Baku, Ms. Sangeetha Rao, World Science Day was created by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) in 2001.
"Under the acronym WSDPD (World Science Day for Peace and Development), it seeks to draw attention to the importance of scientific work worldwide".
"It also aims to keep people aware of emerging scientific issues, such as AI (Artificial Intelligence) and renewable energy. It is highlighting the relevance of science to how we save our lives and to use the technology that surrounds us to inspire people to participate in scientific activities", - informs Ms. Sangeetha.
