BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 13. Specific solutions and plans exist to regulate building density in Baku, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Ilgar Isbatov told Trend.
He said that the general plan stipulates the territories of Baku for the construction of buildings and their volume.
The territories are divided into high, medium, low, and dispersed categories based on building density, as the official explained.
"Areas with high building density are those with buildings of nine stories and above; with medium building density (five-eight-story buildings); with low building density (three-four-story buildings); and dispersed areas are those where private residential houses predominate. This matter is reflected in the General Plan and is regulated," noted Isbatov.
"In the future, if any construction work is needed as part of entrepreneurial activities or by government authorities, this factor will be taken into account. Density zones have specific limits where it won't be possible to build beyond the designated capacity," added the deputy chairman.
