GABALA, Azerbaijan, July 9. Gymnastics is actively developing in all regions of Azerbaijan, rhythmic gymnastics coach of Gabala and Oguz Olympic Complexes Aytaj Suleymanli told Trend.
"The competition in Gabala contributes to the development of gymnastics in the regions of the country. Our main goal is to inculcate love for this sport in children. Such competitions play an important role in this. Teams from different regions came to Gabala, which allowed them to show off their abilities and attract the attention of the national team coaches. The importance of the Cup of Regions cannot be overestimated. Gymnastics is actively developing in all regions of the country, and we are very happy to see this positive progress. We are very pleased to see such great attention to the tournament. Many parents came here to support their children. In Gabala and Oghuz, the rhythmic gymnastics section has existed for two years, and our students are trying to perform as well as possible," Suleymanli said.
To note, the 8th Rhythmic Gymnastics Regional Cup started on July 9 at Azerbaijan's Gabala Olympic Sports Complex.
The competition features 66 gymnasts representing Shaki, Oghuz, Gabala, Shirvan, Masalli, Absheron, Ganja, Lankaran, and Shamkir Youth Centres & Sumgayit Olympic Sports Complexes, as well as Ojaq Sports Club (Zagatala, Agdash, and Shamakhi regions), Ganja Olympic Sports Club, and Kur Olympic Training Sports Center.
