BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. An event titled "Parliaments and global sanction trends: lobbying political sanctions in legislative bodies as an obstacle to international law" has been held with organizational support from the Azerbaijani Social Research Center (SCR), Trend reports.

The regular study held as part of the SCR project "Combating disinformation: detection of deception" introduced a book titled "Armenian lobbying and political corruption in sanctions against Azerbaijan: networks, facts, and exposures."

The event featured speeches from Chairman of the SCR Board, Head of the Azerbaijani Parliament Human Rights Committee Zahid Oruj on "Lobbying in political sanctions: the antithesis of parliamentary diplomacy and legislative mission, turning law into a political tool," and Head of the Parliament's Temporary Commission on Foreign Interference and Hybrid Threats. Ramid Namazov spoke on "COP29: unanimous support for our country as an indicator of Azerbaijan's influence in international relations and the weakness of the Armenian lobby". MP Fariz Ismayilzade discussed "Sanctions as a tool of hybrid warfare—why were there no sanctions against Armenia for 30 Years of Occupation?" MP Mubariz Gurbanli discussed "From Amendment 902: from occupied country to victorious state - a look at the dynamics of sanction activity after our victory", and MP Rizvan Nabiyev spoke on "COP29, Azerbaijan's global initiative - 'Solidarity for a Green World' as a response to biased sanctions."

The author of the study, Deputy Chairman of SCR Tahira Allahyarova spoke about the book "Armenian lobbying and political corruption in sanctions against Azerbaijan."

SCR is presenting facts for the first time about the Armenian diaspora's infiltration and lobbying into international human rights organizations, exposing their activities despite their attempts to hide them.

After the liberation of Karabakh and the restoration of Azerbaijan's sovereignty over all its territories, the activities of the global Armenian diaspora have intensified in many areas amid revanchist hysteria. There have been countless attempts to mention Azerbaijan negatively in various international human rights organizations and courts and to pass biased resolutions in parliaments. Members of the US Congress, mostly from the Armenian Caucus, presented a sanctions project against Azerbaijan on April 26, 2023, marking a first in the history of relations between Azerbaijan and the US.

SCR's research further shows that the Armenian network has significantly increased its global influence within international human rights organizations, judicial bodies, parliaments, and NGOs, particularly in recent years.

In honor of Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg, who gained immense respect in the Jewish world for his service during the Holocaust, the global Armenian community has established three human rights organizations (the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, and the Raoul Wallenberg Center for Human Rights), transforming them into a global network.

Financial magnate Eduardo Erenkian, the second richest Armenian in the world and the richest in Argentina, is a key figure in financing the political corruption activities of the Armenian diaspora in international legal organizations and leading judicial institutes. SCR extensively covered this topic in its report, which included an interview with Luis Ocampo, a former prosecutor at the International Criminal Court.

Interestingly, Erenkian's "international" organization serves as the primary financier behind the new phase of imposing sanctions in the international legal, judicial, diplomatic, and informational war against Azerbaijan, which has intensified since the country's victory. Erenkian funds the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation, whose main mission is to organize global propaganda and establish contacts against Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

Another leading direction of the foundation's activities is to implement extensive outreach to the global Jewish diaspora, which historically has not taken the alleged "Armenian genocide" seriously and has viewed comparisons to the Holocaust as unacceptable, while maintaining strong relations with Azerbaijan. To this end, the foundation has established various entities, including the Lemkin Institute, the Tom Lantos Foundation, and the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation, to conceal the true Armenian activities under the guise of individuals of Jewish descent.

One of the main goals of the study prepared by SCR is to expose the organized activities of the Armenian diaspora in Argentina, France, and French- and Spanish-speaking countries within global legal and judicial structures, flexibly revealing the network that can already be termed a "mafia of international law," along with presenting facts about specific individuals.

The event continued with presentations and discussions surrounding the reports.
