Georgian Minister of Education and Science handed humanitarian aid to Georgian schools in Azerbaijan

Alexander Lomaya, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, handed Georgian schools of Azerbaijan a humanitarian aid in form of textbooks and school stationery. The Minister is currently visiting western areas of Azerbaijan, where ethnic Georgians reside, Trend reports quoting A.Ahvediani, Counselor of Georgian Embassy to Azerbaijan.

Counselor said the visit is made within the framework of mutual cooperation program. During his visit to Azerbaijan minister attended Gah area, local schools, familiarized with conditions of education, met with executives of the area and teachers of the schools.

Georgian minister is also planning to visit Georgian schools in Balakan and Zagatala areas. Georgian officials state up to 15k Georgian residing in these areas, and 3,345 children are attending 12 schools, taught by 388 teachers.
