By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

Hybrid vehicles are more efficient than traditional gasoline or diesel vehicles, Eldaniz Jafarov, a car expert, public relations specialist at Toyota Center Baku, told Trend.

According to the expert, citizens give preference to hybrid cars both from an economic point of view and in order to be environmentally friendly.

“In Azerbaijan, official dealers have fully provided technical service for hybrid vehicles. There is a demand for a hybrid, and this demand will grow. In the next 5 years, 60 percent of cars imported to Azerbaijan will be environmentally friendly,” Jafarov said.

“A new model of Toyota Highlander SUV with 7-seater saloon is presented in Azerbaijan this autumn. This model was produced in two versions, with a 2.5 (2500 cm³) liter hybrid engine and a 3.5 (3500 cm³) liter gasoline engine,” he noted.

“Since this car (7-seater) is one of the most popular in our country, Toyota Center has created all the conditions for its import to Azerbaijan by an official dealer,” the expert said.

“The car is equipped with new technologies. Toyota's innovative technologies provide the highest level of driving safety. Intelligent systems of active and passive safety will warn if the situation gets out of control of the driver. By introducing new technologies, our main goal is to ensure traffic safety, create environmentally friendly cars, comfortable conditions,” Jafarov added.

He noted that Toyota hybrid models are popular in Azerbaijan.

“Citizens primarily prefer environmentally friendly cars. The hybrid is also an environmentally friendly vehicle as CO2 emissions are minimal. The new hybrids are more comfortable and technologically advanced than the previous ones. This is a new platform, a safety system, environmentally friendly cars that meet all the requirements of the State Road Safety Program in order to prevent accidents,” Jafarov added.
