State Customs Committee reveals trade turnover between Azerbaijan and China

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and China amounted to about $1.4 billion from January through October 2021, which is by 7.74 percent or $121.2 million less than in the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

Azerbaijan’s export volume to China during the reporting period reached $135.8 million (a decrease of more than two times for the year or by $285.6 million) while import volume from China - about $1.3 billion (an increase of 12.6 percent or $164.5 million).

According to the State Customs Committee, the share of non-oil products in a total Azerbaijani export volume to China reached 0.81 percent.

In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover exceeded $26.1 billion from January through October 2021. About $16.8 billion (64.56 percent) out of that amount accounted for export, while more than $9.3 billion (35.44 percent) accounted for import.

The balance of Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover remained positive and increased by 2.2 times on an annualized basis up to 7.5 billion manat.

The foreign trade surplus reached almost $3.5 billion in the same period of 2020.

The official exchange rate for December 5 is 1.7 AZN/USD.
