BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16. Azerbaijan’s Baku hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rahman Hummatov and Director General for Foreign Economic Relations of the Federal Ministry of Digital and Economic Affairs of Austria Franz Wessig, Trend reports with reference to the Azerbaijani ministry.
According to the ministry, the sides discussed the existing economic, scientific and technical ties at the meeting.
A mixed commission for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Austria in the sphere of economy, agriculture, industry, engineering and technology is an effective platform, was noted at the meeting.
An exchange of views also took place on the importance of organizing the 10th meeting of the commission and the Azerbaijan-Austria business forum.
The co-chairman of the mixed commission on cooperation in the sphere of economy, agriculture, industry, engineering and technology between Azerbaijan and Austria from the Azerbaijani side is the Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev, and from the Austrian side Franz Wessig.
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, trade with Austria exceeded $70.5 million from January through March 2022, while this figure in the same period last year amounted to $12.07 million (5.84 times increase over the year).
