BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. The value of Azerbaijan’s confections imports increased from January through April 2022, Trend reports via the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the committee, this figure amounted to $43.1 million, up by $3.8 million (9.7 percent) on annual basis.

In the first four months of this year, the value of confections exported by Azerbaijan grew by three times compared to the same period of 2021 – up to $2.05 million, and the share of these products in total Azerbaijani exports equaled 0.02 percent.

Meanwhile, the country's foreign trade turnover in this field was almost $45.2 million, which is 13.18 percent or $5.261 million more than in 4M2021.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totally increased by $5.97 billion (60.3 percent) from January through April 2022 compared to the same period of last year - from $9.8 billion to $15.8 billion.

Exports accounted for $11.8 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is a growth of $5.4 billion (85.7 percent) year on year, while the share of exports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 74.5 percent against 64.3 percent a year earlier.

Azerbaijan's imports increased by $511.6 million (14.5 percent) in 4M2022, from $3.5 billion to $4.04 billion, and the share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 25.4 percent against 35.6 percent a year earlier.
