BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2. Turkish ports handled over 26.59 million tons of crude oil from January through October 2022, Türkiye’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told TurkicWorld, Trend reports on December 2.
According to the ministry, in the reporting period, Turkish-flagged ships transshipped 1.6 million tons of crude oil to Turkish ports, and ships flying the flags of other countries – over 24.9 million tons.
Meanwhile, 40.7 million tons of crude oil were transported in transit through Turkish ports.
More than 330 million tons of cargo were totally transshipped through the ports of Türkiye in the first 10 months of this year.
During this period, the volume of cargo transshipped by the vessels flying the flags of other countries totaled 307 million tons.
Moreover, from January through October 2022, the Turkish ports transshipped 66.99 million tons of transit cargo.
In 2021, the ports of Türkiye received 386.39 million tons of cargo.
During the reporting year, freight transportation by Turkish-flagged ships via domestic ports amounted to 29.9 million tons, whereas the cargo traffic by ships flying other countries' flags reached 356.39 million tons.
Furthermore, Turkish ports transshipped 78 million tons of transit cargo last year.
