Head of Russia’s Karachay-Cherkessia Republic Rashid Temrezov will visit Baku Feb. 1, the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry told Trend Jan. 30.

As part of his stay in Baku, Temrezov will hold a series of meetings and discuss the current state and possibilities for expanding economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia’s Karachay-Cherkessia Republic, the ministry said.

The delegation of Karachay-Cherkessia will also visit a number of companies in Azerbaijan.

Karachay-Cherkessia is a part of the North Caucasian Federal District of Russia. Industrial and agricultural production prevails in the republic.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Karachay-Cherkessia amounted to $588,050 in January-November 2018, according to the North Caucasian Customs Administration of Russia’s Federal Customs Service. Azerbaijan, along with Georgia, Poland and China, is the main consumer of wood, pulp and paper products manufactured in Karachay-Cherkessia.
