Investments in Kazakhstan's agriculture increase by over 60%

The value of investments in agriculture, forestry and fisheries of Kazakhstan amounted to 226.5 billion tenge during January-July 2019, which is 61.4 percent more compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to the data of Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan.

As stated in the data, the main seeds growing regions of the country, i.e North Kazakhstan, Kostanay and Akmola regions invested 106.8 billion tenge in the sector, which is 47.2 percent of the total value of investments in agriculture, forestry and fisheries.

A significant increase in the value of investments in agriculture, forestry and fisheries is observed in Mangystau region and Shymkent city, the value of investments of which increased by 20.1 times and 16.2 times respectively.

Furthermore, over 90 percent of the investments into the fixed capital of in agriculture, forestry and fisheries account for investments into seasonal crops growing (58.2 percent) and animal husbandry (32.3 percent).

On September 3, 2019 the Government of Kazakhstan has approved of roadmaps for development of organic agriculture and manufacturing of halal food products prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

The roadmaps oversee the implementation of a complex of measures aimed at studying the demand and access rules to the market of prioritized export countries, building of institutional structure in area of halal industry, recognition of national certification system on international market, scientific and informational support and so on.

The roadmaps also include specific deadlines and list all government agencies and organizations involved.
