Construction materials worth 771.7 million manat ($453.9 million) were produced in Azerbaijan in 2019, which is 5 percent more compared to 2018, Trend reports referring to Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee.
The volume of cement production amounted to over 3.3 million tons in 2019 (a decline of 1.4 percent compared to 2018), construction lime – 43,100 tons (an increase of 39.7 percent), building blocks and bricks made of cement, artificial stone or concrete – 83,100 tons (an increase of 29.6 percent).
In the meantime, the volume of asphalt production amounted to 418,800 tons (an increase of 44.3 percent), building bricks – 440,300 cubic meters (an increase of 28.2 percent), ready-mixed concrete – 1.8 million tons (an increase of 28.9 percent), processed marble, travertine, alabaster and articles made of them – 37,811 tons (an increase of 12.1 percent).
In 2019, the production of building gypsum declined 2.8 times, amounting to 13,500 tons, while the output of prefabricated concrete structures dropped by 42.2 percent to 49,300 cubic meters.
