BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29
By Fidan Babayeva – Trend:
Laric Chemical, based in Azerbaijan, has significantly increased its disinfectant production over the past two months, Ulker Baghirova, executive director of Laric Chemical, told Trend.
The executive director noted that the volume of disinfectant production stood at 30,000 finished packaged products from February through March 2020.
"Azerbaijan's Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) supported our production of disinfectants in the country, allocating 10,000 liters of ethyl alcohol to the company," Baghirova said.
She pointed out that the company produces from 5,000 to 6,000 units of hand sanitizer a day.
"The company produced disinfectants in small volumes in 2019. The demand for disinfectants has sharply increased in Azerbaijan due to the worldwide spread of coronavirus,” she said.
"We need more primary products to increase the production and sale of hand sanitizer. The demand for raw materials is growing every day, and we have already applied to the Ministry of Economy to provide us with the necessary raw materials," Baghirova added.
She went on to add that a batch of hand sanitizers manufactured by Laric Chemical has already been delivered to consumers, institutions and enterprises in one-liter and five-liter packages.
"Currently, work is underway on production in 400 and 500-milligram packages, as well as on the production of disinfectant gel. We do not plan to slow down this rate of production, but on the contrary, the main task is to increase it,” the executive director said.
Laric Chemical is engaged in the production of detergents and cleaners for home, cars and personal hygiene since 2017.
