The State Veterinary Service of Azerbaijan s Agriculture Ministry has completed research works on the facts of massive bird death in the Village of Tazakand of Jalilabad District of Azerbaijan.
During their visit, analyses were taken to determine the reason of the bird death. The preliminary research showed that the reason of the deaths had been colibacteriosis, not the bird flue.
Despite of this fact, a pathological material taken during the monitoring will be studied in the laboratory of the Veterinary Service, and the results of this study will be made public on November 9.
The State Service also points out that up to date, no bird death facts from bird flue have been detected on the territory of Azerbaijan.
In order to prevent the penetration of this virus into the country, all the veterinary frontier points are working in a medium security. The ban on fowling, selling, and eating wild birds in the country, as well as ban on importation of poultry and chicken foods from those countries where cases on deaths from these disease already registered still holds.
Due to the migration of migrant birds, future monitorings will be held two times a month. The next monitoring is expected to be launched on November 13, of this year.
