The collection of tobacco leafs has been completed in the country. The tobacco crop in this year has made up 4,600 tons which is by 2,400 tons less against the last year, Trend reports referring to a source in the Agriculture Ministry of the Country.
The total tobacco sown area in this year has reached 1,826 hectares. The forecast on the collection of tobacco leaves in the country for 2006 was fixed at the volume of 5,000 tons.
Tobacco leaves are mainly planted in the following economic regions of Azerbaijan: Shaki-Zagatala (Zagatala, Shaki, Gakh, Gabala, and Balakan).
