KazMunayGaz Joint Stock Company (JSC) considerably cut the planned expenditures regarding government's anti-crisis measures and coordination with the Kazakh government on budget and investment policy, JSC President Karigeldi Kabildin said in Astana on Feb. 25.
"Regarding the current economic conditions, KazMunayGaz conducted serious selection of projects. In this case, priority was given to investment projects which are directed to upgrade the country's economy and which are of the government's interests in near and long-term perspective," Kabildin said. "Our activities' real efficiency will be assessed right now - under conditions of low stability on the world market."
As a result of KazMunayGaz's reconsidering 2009 plans, the JSC's consolidated cost was cut by 842 billion tenge or by 44 percent, as well as general and administrative expenditures were reduced by 25 billion tenge or by 16 percent compared to 2008.
