The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) Marketing and Economic Operations Department exported over 1.1 million tons of oil related products from oil refineries in January-July 2010 compared to the same period of 2009.
In July SOCAR exported about 161,000 tons of oil products compared to approximately 155,000 tons in July of 2009.
Oil products in Azerbaijan are produced at two Baku oil refineries with the total capacity of 20mln tons of oil per year. Both refineries are owned by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), which annually processes over 6 million tons of oil produced in the offshore and onshore fields through its own funds.
In 20o9, 6.03 million tons of oil were produced at two Baku refineries with capacity of 20 million tons of oil per year compared to about 7.35 million tons in 2008. Two refineries enter SOCAR annually processing 6-7 million tons of oil extracted onshore and offshore owing to own funds.
