Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 22 / Trend E. Ismayilov /

According to SOCAR's forecasts with an exploration well, drilled by the company on the field "Bulla Deniz" in Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea, the daily gas production will hit 500,000 cubic meters per day, a source in the company said.

The sources said that it is assumed that about 80 tons of gas condensate can be extracted from the well daily.

At present, the depth of the well exceeds 5,300 meters compared to the projected 6,400 meters, the source said. It is planned that drilling will be completed in early 2011.

The exploratory drilling in this field is important for SOCAR in terms of increasing its own gas reserves.

Previously, the geophysics and geology department installed an RT-Leuzas remote control system to monitor and control the well.

The Bulla Deniz field has been exploited since 1975. More than 62 billion cubic meters of gas and 11 million tons of oil and condensate were extracted up to 2009.

Over 450,000 cubic meters of gas are extracted daily from Bulla Deniz field. SOCAR geologists said that gas production in this field can be increased by several times.
