The International Workshop on Energy Statistics will be held in Baku on Sept. 27-30 to discuss the implementation process of the International Recommendations for Energy Statistics (IRES), the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported on Friday.
The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) in cooperation with the State Statistics Committee is organizing this event.
The International Recommendations for Energy Statistics (IRES) have been recently adopted by the United Nations Statistical Commission at the 42nd session. The seminar will also discuss the guidelines for the management of energy statistics, which is under development.
The main objectives of this Workshop are to train participants on the implementation of the recommendations contained in IRES; review and discuss issues that countries face in the collection, compilation and dissemination of energy statistics and share national experiences, UN reported.
About 30 representatives of the UN, the International Energy Agency and other international organizations will attend the workshop.
