Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov.21 / Trend F.Milad/

Despite the implementation of the Subsidy Reform Plan in Iran, daily gas consumption in household and commercial units has increased by 11 million cubic meters since early current calendar year (started on March 21, 2011).

Some 156 million cubic meters of gas has been consumed by household and commercial units during the reported period, which is 11 percent more than the amount of the same period of last year, Mehr news agency reported.

The subsidy reform plan, launched in December 2010, allows the Iranian government to gradually slash subsidies on fuel, electricity, and certain goods over five years, with low-income families being compensated with direct cash handouts.
