About 2.8 million tons of Azerbaijani oil were transported via the export oil pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) in January compared to 2.9 million tons in January 2011, SOCAR said on Thursday.
As of February 1, 2012, about 178.56 million tons of oil were transported via this pipeline.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline transported over 32.2 million tons of oil in 2011 compared to 37 million in 2010.
About 2.46 million tons of Azerbaijani oil were delivered from the Turkish port of Ceyhan to the world markets in Jan. 2012 compared to 2.5 million tons in January 2011. As of February 1, 2012, about 176.5 million tons of Azerbaijani oil were delivered from Ceyhan to the world markets.
Over 32.08 million tons of oil was delivered to the world markets from the Turkish port of Ceyhan in 2011 compared to 37.3 million tons in 2010.
The BТС's total length is 1.768 kilometers including a 443-kilometer section running via
Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section traversing Georgia and a 1.076-kilometer section passing through Turkey. The pipeline's construction began in April 2003. First oil was marked May 18, 2005.
BTC Co. shareholders include: BP (30.1 percent); AzBTC (25 percent); Chevron (8.90 percent); Statoil Hydro (8.71 percent); ТРАО (6.53 percent); Eni (5 percent); Total (5 percent); Itochu (3.40 percent); Inpex (2.50 percent); ConocoPhillips (2.50 percent) and Amerada Hess (2.36 percent).
