Kazakh Aktau Port decreases oil transshipment in April

The Kazakh Aktau International Sea Commercial Port has transshipped 570,000 tons of oil cargo in April compared to 640,000 tons in March, the Port said on Thursday.

Some oil transshipped through the Aktau Port is transported to Baku, from where it is supplied to the Black Sea Port of Georgia via railway.

Meanwhile, the total volume of dry and oil cargo transshipped in April amounted to 906,000 ton, including 154,000 tons of hardware, 72,000 tons of grain and 35,000 tons of other cargo.

In March, the port transshipped 949,000 tons of dry and oil cargo in general, including 120,000 tons of hardware, 66,000 tons of grain and 25,000 tons of other cargo.

The volume of ferry traffic in April hit 75,000 compared to 99,000 tons in March.
The Aktau port received 165 ships in April. The figure hit 154 in March.

In January-April, Aktau International Sea Commercial Port transshipped 3.754 million tons of cargo (compared to 3.89 million tons in the same period of 2011). In particular, the Port transshipped 2.482 million tons of oil and oil products in this period (compared to 3.46 in the same period of 2011), 497,000 tons of hardware (compared to 519,400 tons), 248,000 tons of grain (compared to 20,100 tons) and 107,000 tons of other cargo (compared to 93,000).

Ferry traffic in January-April, 2012 hit 419,000 tons. The port received 656 ships during this period.
