Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, July 6 / Trend H. Hasanov /

The immense prospects for rapid oil production in Turkmenistan are associated with the development of the Galkynysh field, the Turkmen Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry said today.

"According to the specialists, besides huge natural gas reserves, there are highly promising oil fields," he information said.

Oil reserves in this field are estimated at 300 million tons. The development in this area will increase the volume of produced oil products at an oil refinery in the city of Sadie. Large-scale reconstruction is planned to be held there. The field differs by unique characteristics. There are virtually no impurities.

Turkmenistan plans to increase oil production to more than 20 million tons by 2020 or 2 times more than the current rates. The national sector of the Caspian and the right bank of the Amu Darya are promising.

Chekichler, South Kamyshlydja, Nebitlidzhe fields located in the west, are among the newly commissioned fields. "Turkmenneft" State Concern has recently opened new promising oil deposits in Altyguyy field, which was previously considered to be gas field.

While developing an exploration well, oil free-flowing with a daily output of 75 tons was obtained. The geologists confirmed the predictions about the multilayer oil and gas structures in this field.

At this stage, the search operations are underway by using four drilling rigs. They will outline the area of the field and calculate its reserves.

"Turkmenneft" has started exploration work on a number of other areas, including Kemer, Miesser, Simler, Shayyrdy, Akeser, Garadashli, West Korpeje, located in the western part of the country, which remains the major oil-producing region in Turkmenistan.

The oil produced in western Turkmenistan is characterized by high commodity qualities. There are no aggressive chemical components, such as sulfur, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide gases.

Other regions of the country are being actively involved in oil production. So, oil production has been launched in the Central Karakum for the first time. The investment project on development of new Yylakly and Mschar deposits is being implemented.

A 140-kilometer oil pipeline has been laid from here to the desert.

All extracted oil is being transported to the oil loading station, built in Baharly. "Black gold" is being loaded into the tanks and delivered by railway to the Seidi refinery.
