The Turkish largest electricity distribution network Akdeniz Elektrik Dagıtım has been privatised. It provides the provinces of Antalya, Isparta and Burdur with electricity, the Turkish Privatisation Agency said today.

The electricity distribution network has been fully privatised by the Cengiz-Kolin-Limak Company for $546 million. Four companies participated in the tender, but Cengiz-Kolin-Limak offered the best price.

Akdeniz Elektrik Dagıtım has been put forward for privatisation for the second time. The first time it was privatised in 2010 for $1.1 billion, but the licence was revoked because the investor has not fulfilled its obligations stipulated in the purchase sale contract.

Akdeniz Elektrik Dagıtım's capacity is five billion kilowatt / hours. The total number of users in the network is one million.
