About 55,000 tons of polyethylene were produced in Azerbaijan in January-September 2013, which is by 12 percent more than in the same period of 2012, Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend today.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the increase of production was observed in most categories of basic types of chemical products in January-September in Azerbaijan.

Around 21,300 tons of solid polyethylene pipes, tubes and hoses were produced in the country in January-September, which is by 0.1 percent less than in January-September 2012. Moreover, about 471 tons of polyurethane plates and strips were produced in the country, which is 21.4 percent more than in January-September 2012.
