Installation, production of high-octane A-98 grade petroleum (Euro-5), has been successfully implemented at the oil refinery in Seydi city in eastern Turkmenistan, local newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan reported.

Production is mainly exported to neighboring Afghanistan. This became possible after the completion of the first stage of Atamyrat—Ymamnazar—Akina (Turkmenistan—Afghanistan) line in late 2016.

A-98 grade fuel is distinguished by low sulphur and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon content, what increases longevity of car engines and considerably lowers harmful emissions to the atmosphere.

The project is realized by the US-based Westport Trading Europe Ltd. Design capacity of the installation equipped with automatic control system is 500,000 tons of production per year.

Oil and gas condensate are received from Yashyldepe, Baharly, Yilakly, Mydar and Soltanbent oilfields.
