While developing the giant gas field Galkynysh, Turkmenistan’s Turkmengas State Concern received a powerful industrial flow of natural gas from the 262nd well, Trend reports referring to the state concern.
According to the specialists, 1,940 cubic meters of gas are obtained from the production well per day.
While developing the gas well, it is possible to accurately determine the gas recovery and obtain data on the gas pressure thanks to the new equipment. Galkynysh with its gas reserves is among the biggest fields in the world.
UK’s Gaffney, Cline & Associates has estimated the reserves of the field (including Yashlar field) at 27.4 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
The gas from Galkynysh field is supplied to the domestic market and exported to China. Moreover, this field is a resource base for supplying gas through the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.
