This year, Azerigaz Production Union of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has carried out large-scale work on gas supply to regions, reconstruction of gas pipelines and equipment, as well as on improving gas supply to consumers, Trend reports with reference to the production union.
In accordance with the program of measures, first of all, gas pipelines were reconstructed in Azerbaijan’s villages and settlements, obsolete equipment was replaced on pipelines, the reconstruction of existing gas distribution networks, gas lines of streets and lanes, as well as the installation of gas meters in consumers’ apartments continues at the next stage.
From January through October 2019, new gas pipelines of various diameters with a length of 1,559 kilometers were laid in Azerbaijan, and gas pipelines with a length of 542.8 kilometers were overhauled.
In addition, 299.6 kilometers of gas lines of various diameters were repaired and replaced from January through October this year at the expense of domestic funds in Baku, Sumgait cities and other regions.
Gas has been supplied to 92 settlements and 66 housing estates in Azerbaijan according to the State Program for this year.
In Baku, gas has already been supplied to one of 22 settlements, the work has been almost completed in 11 other settlements, and the work on gas supply still continues in 10 remaining housing estates.
The events scheduled for the autumn-winter period of 2019-2020 have been completed by 90 percent and still continue.
