Specialists of Swedish Alfa-Laval company have modernized and put into operation the oil filtering equipment at Isfahan oil refinery situated in Iran's Isfahan province, engineer at Isfahan oil refinery's maintenance department Farshad Shams said.

“This equipment filters solid particles and has a number of other functions,” Shams added, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.

“At the same time, by using this equipment, it will be possible to reduce oil humidity below 100 ppm and eliminate the pollutants, and pure oil will correspond to the level of Class 6-7 NAS 1638,” the engineer said.

“The equipment may filter 40-500 liters of oil daily,” Shams said. “Taking into account the price of oil at about 40 million rials (about $952), 27 billion rials (about $642,000) will be saved a month and the company will not import this oil.”

Isfahan oil refinery launched its activity in 1979. Presently, the company processes more than 375,000 barrels of oil per day.

The company produces 12 million liters of gasoline complying with Euro 5 standard and 2 million liters of diesel complying with Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards.

Some 22 million liters of diesel complying with Euro 5 standard are expected to be produced next Iranian year (from March 21, 2020 through March 21, 2021) after commissioning a diesel filtration plant.
