The Azerbaijani integrated drilling and well services management company SOCAR AQS announced the opening of its first fully equipped and modern field facility center in Turkey for the Tuz Golu underground gas storage expansion project, Trend reports citing SOCAR AQS.
Tuz Golu project comprises of 40 wells to be drilled into a salt dome to create approximately 4.4 billion cubic meters of underground gas storage capacity.
Reportedly, the field facility was built within the Project area, in close proximity to well locations, to support the drilling and well construction process effectively, to ensure delivery of all equipment and services on time.
Since the start of the project SOCAR AQS said it has already successfully drilled 33 top hole sections, and have mobilized 5 main drilling rigs for this campaign for this operation.
SOCAR AQS LLC was established as an integrated drilling and well services management company between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic and Absheron Drilling Company in 2007. Main scope of activities of the company is provision of work and services related to drilling of oil and gas wells. The company also provides industry specific supply chain management, warehouse management and other related services.
Currently, SOCAR AQS executes oil and gas drilling with 6 rigs on 5 platforms in 4 offshore oil and gas fields in the Caspian, including Shallow Water Gunashli, West Absheron and Bulla-Deniz.
The company successfully implements drilling works in Turkey in the frame of Expansion of Tuz Golu underground gas storage project. SOCAR AQS has also been awarded contracts in Ukraine and Bangladesh.
SOCAR AQS is in NEQSOL Holding and its shareholders are SOCAR and Nobel Oil Services.
