In the next two months, a small-scale power plant will be commissioned in the Marivan district of Kurdistan Province in western Iran, said the CEO of Iran’s western region electricity company, Ali Asadi, Trend reports citing Iran's Ministry of Energy.

According to Asadi, the station with a capacity of 25 megawatts has to be commissioned before peak power time.

Asadi added that currently, the station has the capacity to produce 14 megawatts of electricity.

The company official said small-scale power plants could reduce power losses. This station is also important in the event of a power outage.

Assadi said that with the commissioning of the station, 50 people will be employed in the area of electricity and greenhouse consumption.
