Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas reduces expenditures within anticrisis measures

Within the framework of anticrisis measures taken by Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas National Company (KMG), the company has reduced its expenditures by 14 billion tenge ($34.01 million), Trend reports with reference to KMG.

The topic was discussed during a meeting held a working visit of KMG Chairman of the Management Board Alik Aidarbayev to Kazakhstan’s Atyrau and Mangystau regions.

“The organizational structure of the central office was revised and the staff was optimized. The salaries of top managers were reduced by 30 percent, of middle managers by 20 percent, and all bonus payments were suspended till the end of the year. The salaries of ordinary employees remained at the same level. The central apparatus also stopped using vehicles for management,” the report said.

Talking KMG subsidiaries, Aidarbayev said that all expenses that did not affect the production and employment of personnel were reduced.

“Depending on the situation, we will continue to optimize costs. We are not going to reduce production personnel. Our main principle is to save jobs. I am sure that by joint efforts we will overcome all difficulties,” he said.

He also said that KMG expects a significant decrease in financial performance this year.

KazMunayGas National Company (KMG) is the Kazakhstan operator for exploration, production, refining and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the state interests in the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan.
