Turkey decreases crude oil imports from Kazakhstan in Aug. 2020

Turkey has imported a total of 249,922 tons of crude oil in August 2020, which accounted for 8.46 percent of total Turkey’s crude oil imports, Trend reports citing Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority ( EPDK).

The overall Turkey’s import of crude oil from Kazakhstan from Jan. through Aug. 2020 amounted to 1.87 million tons.

Thus, Turkey’s import of Kazakh crude oil decreased by 39.5 percent compared to Jan. 2020 (413,547 tons), and by 19.8 percent compared to the volume imported in Aug. 2020 (311,968 tons.

The value of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey amounted to $2.05 billion over the first eight months of 2020, compared to $2.02 billion during the same period of 2019.

Kazakhstan’s export to Turkey amounted to $1.4 billion over the period from January through August 2020, compared to $1.5 billion during the same period of 2019.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s imports from Turkey amounted to nearly $574.3 million over the reporting period, compared to $514.4 million during the same period of 2019.

Kazakhstan’s export amounted to $31.8 billion during the reporting period of 2020 ($37.7 billion in the same period of 2019), whereas imports amounted to $23.7 billion ($25.3 billion in 2019).

During the reporting period, the main articles of Kazakhstan and Algeria trade turnover were food products, agricultural products, as well as products of the chemical industry.
