Turkmenistan plans to drill new wells at North Goturdepe field

Work continues on the development of two new wells in Turkmenistan’s North Goturdepe field, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan's 'Golden Age' electronic newspaper.

In accordance with the agreement signed with the company "Yug-Neftegaz Private Limited", it is planned to drill 60 vertical, horizontal and directional wells with a depth of 4,500 to 5,500 meters in the future, which will allow significantly increase geological oil reserves.

Together with the company, the construction of new wells located in the shallow waters of the Caspian Sea continues.

With the participation of the company, drilling of 6 wells was completed, which provided an increase in the production of hydrocarbon raw materials.

Turkmenistan’s Turkmengeology State Corporation began the construction of wells after conducting 3D seismic surveys and also is involved in the development of promising areas at the North Goturdepe.

In general, the development is carried out by the departments of Turkmenistan’s Turkmennebit Sate Concern and Turkmengeology.

As it was reported earlier, the initial total resources in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea are currently estimated at 12.1 billion tons of oil and gas condensate.

At the same time, the country's gas reserves in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea are estimated at 6.1 trillion cubic meters.

The total geological reserves of Turkmenistan amount to 71.2 billion tons of conventional fuel, of which 53 billion tons are resource reserves of deposits on land, and 18.2 billion tons are located within the Turkmen sector the Caspian Sea.
