Azerbaijan discloses top 10 importers of its oil products in 2021

The export volume of Azerbaijan's oil products to 10 countries, which are the main partners in this field reached over 16.2 billion tons ($7.3 billion) from January through August 2021, Trend reports citing a report from the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

Italy, during the reporting period retained the status of Azerbaijan's biggest importer of oil products with a specific weight of 47.61 percent.

Azerbaijan's export of oil products to this country amounted to about $ 4.9 billion. It is followed by Croatia - more than $547.8 million (6.45 percent), Spain - $510.5 million (6.01 percent), India - $482.4 million (5.68 percent), Israel - $457.8 million (5.39 percent), Portugal - $307.7 million (3.62 percent), Tunisia - $274.5 million (3.23 percent), Ukraine - $ 268.3 million (3.16 percent), the UK - $263.9 million (3.1 percent), Germany - $216.1 million (2.54 percent).

Azerbaijan as a whole exported over 18.8 million tons of oil from January through August 2021, which is by 9.5 percent, or about two million tons, less than in the same period of last year.

Oil export reached almost $8.5 billion in value terms, which is by 25.1 percent or $1.7 billion more than from January through August 2020.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover exceeded $20.3 billion, which is by 18.3 percent or $3.7 billion more than in the same period of 2020.

Some $12.9 billion accounted for export in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is by 30.9 percent or $3.05 billion more than from January through August 2020. The share of export in foreign trade turnover amounted to 63.77 percent.

Azerbaijan's import amounted to about $7.3 billion from January through August 2021, increasing by 9.8 percent, or $659 million compared to the same period of last year. The share of import in foreign trade turnover amounted to 36.23 percent.

The foreign trade balance, remaining positive, increased on an annualized basis by 42.8 percent, or $2.4 billion up to $5.6 billion.
